All you can pick-tomatoes

April 11, 2017

Tomato u-pick is a fun way to stock up your pantry and belly on lucious ripe (or green tomatoes).  Check out this place in South Florida.  It is 710 U-pick off of highway 710 in Indiantown, Florida.  It is 10 miles west of Indiantown and 16 miles east of Okeechobee. Keep your eyes peeled and GPS on to spot a small road side sign on the East side of the road.  The building is not visible from the road either.

Produce is either pre-picked or U-pick. Tomato U-pick variety is "Florida 47", a juicy yet firm variety.  Fill a 5-gallon bucket with tomatoes, eggplant or numerous varieties of peppers (mix and match) for $12! A 5-gallon bucket of tomatoes weighs approximately 30# when filled.

Other produce available to pick at a per pound price include kohlrabi, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli.  In the stand there is rainbow chard, zucchini, yellow squash, yellow and red grape tomatoes, fresh black eyed peas. Bring a box or container to transport your produce home, or buy one for a dollar.  Cash or check only- no wifi to run cards.

A great way to stock up on homemade tomato sauce and home canned tomatoes at a great price!

The address for 710 u-pick is 25801 S.W. Warfield Blvd Okeechobee,FL 34956.  Only a few more weeks of tomato u-picks at this location.
